Privacy Policy
GM GeoTag is designed to process images locally in your browser wherever technically possible. This page describes the main data flows of the public tool.
Image processing
Core image inspection, EXIF handling and JPEG generation are performed in the visitor's browser. The core tools do not intentionally upload your image to a GM Media server for processing or storage.
Maps
Interactive maps use Leaflet and OpenStreetMap tile infrastructure. Your browser requests map tiles from the relevant OpenStreetMap tile service as the map is displayed. Those services may have their own policies and technical logs.
Place and address search
When you use place search, your search query is sent to the selected geocoding service, currently the OpenStreetMap/Nominatim ecosystem. Search requests are not required for manual coordinate entry or local EXIF reading.
Current location
Browser geolocation is never requested automatically by this site. A location request occurs only after you explicitly activate “Use My Current Location” and your browser asks for permission.
Advertising and cookies
If advertising is enabled on GM GeoTag, third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads. Google and its partners may use information from visits to this site or other sites to help personalize advertising where permitted by the user’s settings and applicable law. Users can manage personalized advertising through Google’s Ads Settings. The site will update this policy if additional advertising vendors are introduced.
Third parties
Third-party map, geocoding, CDN and advertising services can have their own privacy policies, availability constraints and usage rules. Review those policies if you need service-specific information.
Images and sensitive information
Even when processing is local, images can contain sensitive information. Avoid using sensitive images when you do not understand the metadata they contain or the third-party services you choose to use.
Contact and policy updates
GM GeoTag is an image utility by GM Media. This policy may be updated when the site adds services, analytics, advertising or other data-processing features. The current version published on this page applies to visitors using the live site.
